Summary
I am a senior research and development engineer at Kitware, where I work on CMake, build tooling, and solving various practical problems for our clientele. I also develop and lead trainings on whatever topic needs teaching.
My background crosses software, computer engineering, and operational engineering. I studied computer engineering at NYU, spent time teaching systems and architecture material there, and earlier served as a submarine reactor operator in the United States Navy.
I tend to gravitate toward work close to the machine: compiled languages, toolchains, performance-sensitive systems, hardware description, the stuff AI hasn’t completely taken over yet.
